Founded in 2001, Proximic.com has developed fundamentally different algorithms for performing Internet search and contextual content matching. The company operates a contextual content network which, given the fact the it relies on pattern matching at its core, is able to analyse and process massive amounts of text completely language independent and in realtime. Given its innovative base technology Proximic is capable of operating a broad variety of search and matching applications on a small hardware footprint.

As a result of the quality and performance step-up, Proximic is entering the growing market of contextual advertising and content matching by offering web services for publishers (e.g. improving quality of related ads and content with high relevance) and advertisers (e.g. automatically find relevant ad contexts with being dependent on keywords).

The company was founded by Philipp Pieper and Thomas Nitsche and has offices in Palo Alto and Munich, Germany. The team has an outstanding track record in implementing complex technology solutions, among them is Mephisto, the consecutive world champion chess computer in the 1980s.

Investors in Proximic are Holtzbrinck Ventures and Wellington Partners.
