Looking for restaurants, finding and assessing them - this is the key service of Restaurant-Kritik.de. The project started in 2002 and has become the greatest consumer portal in the gastronomy sector in Germany.

With a search function for names, places, type of cuisine and many other criteria, users can look for a suitable restaurant in the whole of Germany. There is ample information in text and pictures about every restaurant. Restaurant proprietors can edit their data independently.

Every user can assess a restaurant he or she visited with the help of a sophisticated online questionnaire. Beside a 5-tier point system for the assessment of food, beverages, service, atmosphere and value for money, there are also questions about service time, quality of food, freshness of ingredients and cleanliness. Additionally, there is the possibility of writing a text about own assessments and comments.

Along with the functions integrated during past years like a news blog, appointment database and a lively user community, Restaurant-Kritik.de has become a dialogue medium. Many restaurant proprietors are now using the platform for guest connectivity and for their feedback process. Restaurant-Kritik has been financed by advertisement only and has offered the service for free.

Kabukiman Ltd., located in Oberusel, has been the owner of Restaurant-Kritik.de since 2004. Managing director of the company is Dipl. Ing. Carsten Jutzi. Holtzbrinck Ventures joined Restaurant-Kritik in October 2008.
